Most “Christmas games for couples” are really party games for twelve people with one couple in the corner. Dirty Santa needs a crowd. Ugly sweater contests need judges.
These 12 games are built for two. They’re playful, a little wicked, and they work whether you’re under the same tree or texting from your parents’ guest room.
Before you play: pick the level together
Holidays come with pressure. Family, travel, too much eggnog. So before any game, take one minute: agree on how far tonight goes, and pick a word that stops a round instantly, no explanation needed.
Choosing the level together isn’t a buzzkill. It’s what lets both of you relax enough to actually play.
Naughty Christmas games at home
1. The naughty or nice list
Each of you writes a list of five things: two “nice” (a slow massage, breakfast in bed) and three “naughty” (you can guess). Swap lists. All week, your partner marks you naughty or nice, and every mark earns you one item from the matching side of their list.
2. Unwrap me slowly
Wrap one small gift in five layers of paper. Before each layer comes off, the person unwrapping answers a question or takes a dare from the giver. The last layer can be the real gift, or something that only makes sense once the lights are off.
3. The mistletoe rule
Hang one sprig somewhere unexpected: the bathroom door, the laundry room, the car visor. For the whole week, whoever gets caught under it owes a kiss of the other person’s choosing. Where, how long, and how slow are all up to the one who caught them.
4. Dice under the tree
Roll the erotic dice by the light of the tree. One die picks the action, one picks the body part, and the third sets how many seconds it lasts. Start on the Soft preset and move up when you both feel like it. With the Custom preset, you can rewrite every face, so swap in a few holiday-themed actions of your own. If you’ve never played, our guide to how to play sex dice covers the basics and a safe word that actually works.
5. Hot cocoa truth or dare
Every sip of cocoa means one truth or one dare. First to hit the bottom of the mug? You pick the next dare for your partner.
6. The ugly sweater forfeit
Play any game you like: cards, trivia, Mario Kart. Every lost round means one layer comes off, starting with the ugly sweater. Simple rules, very motivating.
Christmas games for couples online or apart
7. The synced challenge
Spending the holidays with separate families is normal, especially for newer couples. The Spicy Challenge sends you both the same dare at the same moment, on two phones, wherever you are. There are five levels, from Romantic through Hard to Blind Date. Play after everyone’s gone to bed, ten rounds each night, and the 400 miles between you suddenly feel a lot shorter.
8. The Christmas Eve whisper
On the 24th, send a Whispers message: three guided intimate lines and a private photo. The link opens exactly once, then it’s gone. Tell them to wait until they’re alone, because there’s no second look.
9. The stocking stuffer scratch
Make a sexy scratch card with a photo hidden under the surface, and caption the link with a hint about what’s waiting when you’re back. Send it on Christmas morning, while they’re surrounded by relatives. The fun is watching them keep a straight face.
10. The 12-hour countdown
Starting at noon on the 25th, send one message every hour, each one a little more direct than the last. No replies allowed until the twelfth one. It turns the longest family dinner of the year into a slow build.
For the week between Christmas and New Year’s
11. Blind Date night
Choose the Blind Date level of The Spicy Challenge and let the game decide everything. Neither of you knows what’s coming. That’s the whole point.
12. The last gift
On New Year’s Eve, each of you writes one wish for the new year and seals it in an envelope. Open them at midnight. Some are sweet, some aren’t. Make a promise to deliver at least one before January is over.
Keeping it fun, not awkward
- Start one level lower than you think. You can always turn it up.
- Keep the veto visible. Either of you can skip a dare, no reason needed.
- Mind the walls. If you’re at your parents’ house, choose games that rely on words and anticipation, not volume.
Pick two games for this year, agree on the level, and save the rest for next December.
